The select group of people who drive just for the sheer pleasure of it are a dying breed. Rare are the days that I'll get in a car just for a blast out in the country. Even rarer are the days where I have a unmolested and unhindered commute to work. In fact those days are almost non-existent; the odds are slightly above those of finding a hen's tooth but way below the chances of a good episode of Eastenders.
It's a crying shame in an age where vehicles are more involving than ever, manufacturers are dedicating thousands upon thousands of road hours to fine tuning the handling of the latest hot hatch, shaving those last few hundreds of a second off a Nordschleife lap time. All that work and effort is poured into a car only for the poor owner to be stuck in an inpassable half a mile nose-to-tail queue behind a retarded road user on the A4074 to Wallingford. I use the word retarded because it conveniently applies to both the mental capacity and the speed of aforementioned road user.
I therefore welcome you to www.howroadswork.co.uk, a site born from the anger and frustration of one particular A4074 user. I make no excuses for my verbal behaviour on this site, my only ask is that you take it for what it is - a selfish rant aimed at the kind of people who should stick primarily to public transport and leave their car in the garage with the battery disconnected. In my opinion.
